As a QC Laboratory Instrument Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, calibrating, and repairing the analytical instrumentation that supports our Quality Control laboratory. In this role, you will be the technical expert to help ensure critical laboratory systems remain reliable, compliant, and ready to support production and customer needs. This position reports to the QC Supervisor and it's expected to run a Monday through Friday schedule, however, it may be called in on the weekends for equipment issues or to help cover for short staffing.
This position is part of a job family with multiple levels and will be filled at a level that is commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience.
During your 8-hour shift as a QC Laboratory Instrument Technician, you will…
- Maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair laboratory instrumentation in a cGMP QC laboratory.
- Perform preventive maintenance to maximize instrument uptime and reliability.
- Support instrument qualifications, upgrades, and new equipment installations.
- Maintain maintenance and calibration records in compliance with quality requirements.
- Partner with laboratory staff and external service providers to resolve technical issues.
- Provide training and support to the laboratory staff to help ensure compliance with cGMP and ISO requirements, including data integrity.
If you…
- Hold an associate’s degree in Instrumentation, Chemistry, or a related technical field. Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related science field is preferred.
- Bring 3 years of experience maintaining analytical laboratory instrumentation such as gas chromatographs, HPLC systems, ICP-OES, Laser Diffraction, FTIR, and other standard equipment. 5+ years of experience is preferred.
- Are able to work independently while supporting a collaborative laboratory team.
- Have strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; self-starter with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Are able to write technical reports and method validations as needed as well as update laboratory documentation as needed
- Have experience performing Method Validation for new equipment and testing methods.
- Possess background in providing testing support to enable the laboratory to maintain finished product and raw material release schedules
- Preferrably have previous lab experience in an FDA or ISO regulated environment and good understanding of ISO, cGMP and FDA guidelines.
