As a Sr. Manager Machinery and Quality Expertise, you create chemistry by...

• Developing and implementing a resource strategy to deliver and support value adding services across the region. You will also ensure highly skilled resources are available and aligned with the regional and global strategy to support demand and improve/maintain high machinery reliability to meet business needs. 
• Managing the quality resources across North America. The quality organization delivers inspection support services for purchased equipment at suppliers and BASF operated facilities for capital projects, turnarounds, and routine maintenance activities. These resources ensure appropriate risk based techniques are employed ensuring the inspection costs are aligned with business needs.  
• Motivating and leading regional and global teams to deliver innovative solutions to improve machinery performance in support of business unit objectives. You will also interface with global peers and colleagues to build a strong technical network with relationships that can be leveraged to bring value to the region as well as providing support services for other regions. 
• Being responsible and accountable for collaborating with the global organization on a range of technical topics. You will also ensure best practices and key learnings are developed, shared, and integrated in the region, including participation on various global working groups.   
• Leading a team of professionals focused on specific categories (example: Centrifugal, Reciprocating, Steam/Gas Turbines, Process Screw, Mechanical Refrigeration, Integral Geared) and general machinery topics (ex: centrifuges, pumps, agitators, etc.) as well as diagnostics and design of new assets to effectively collaborate with supporting disciplines and business unit colleagues to deliver value added services ensuring performance over the complete asset life cycle.   You will ensure the sustainability of fundamental tools (example: RCFA, Bad Actors, FMEA, Equipment Care Strategies, etc.) and leverage continuous improvement and technology to ensure skills and capabilities are enabling overall business success.  
• Collaborating closely with global and regional colleagues to ensure adequate resources are available to support key planned and unplanned overhauls effectively. You will ensure proper performance metrics are developed and managed to track the performance of these key assets. 
• Engaging with OEM and various suppliers to ensure quality and deliver standards and monitor regional performance in partnership with other colleagues, internal support groups, and global Business Unit and Technology teams, to ensure BASF is meeting or exceeding expectations, as well as proactively develop and propose solutions to mitigate concerning performance trends or indicators as necessary. 
• Leading and supporting key critical topics that impact BASF machinery performance. You will work with Digitalization teams to identify new technologies and innovation to support continuous improvement in machinery performance and implement service offerings to drive the improvements to the manufacturing sites and collaborate closely with the Asset Monitoring Reliability Center 

If you have...

• A Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in Engineering or Maintenance in the Petrochemical or Refining industry.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and 5+ years of experience managing and working with teams with diverse cultural backgrounds (strongly preferred).
• Highly effective collaboration skills and experience developing and sustaining strong networks and information channels.
• A full understanding of machinery theory and applications.  
• Understanding of capital projects, procurement, financial, acquisition and integration processes, and engineering tools.
