As a Head of NA Corporate Security, Crisis & Emergency Response, you will be accountable for protecting people (employees, contractors, vendors and visitors) and Company assets (physical assets, intellectual property and brand) from all criminal and malicious threats across the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and Mexico/Central America. Operating at a strategic level, you will serve as the senior regional authority safeguarding the Company's License to Operate and its crisis management and emergency response readiness. This leadership role sets the direction for security and emergency response operations region-wide while connecting the organization to global security priorities and to external law enforcement partners.

As a Head of NA Corporate Security, Crisis & Emergency Response, you create chemistry by...

  • Developing and implementing strategic and operational security policy and programs, you will maintain the Company's License to Operate, achieved through research and collaboration both within the internal security groups (NA & Global) and with internal OD customer stakeholders. This will include the execution of and compliance with Global Policy related to Security Operations Management, Risk Assessments and Emergency Response.
  • Providing supervisorial oversight for Corporate Security Managers/Specialists, the Security Technology & Regulatory Manager, the Executive Protection Officer, the Corporate Security Analyst and Emergency Response Managers, you will lead the North American Security and Emergency Response Communities of Practice and develop the Corporate Security, Emergency Response and security site representative communities with a continued focus on capability, skills development and continuing education. In addition, you will provide communication, training and support to internal teams on security and emergency response roles and capabilities, so that they work in a safe and productive environment, all mandated, legally required regulatory compliance requirements are met, and the supply chain from site to customer remains secure and profitable.
  • Leading NA Crisis Management and Emergency Response, you will provide oversight of the function and personnel with direct involvement in Incident Support Team (IST) incidents, and will offer guidance and support to OD's, Sites and Country leadership in conjunction with the IST/CMT during a crisis event. This will include pre-developed contingency plans for multiple incident types, drills and practice to deliver a competent response, as well as the role of Coordinator for the NA Threat Assessment Incident Team (TAT).
  • Identifying and mitigating Company, BU and Site level threats and risks, you will research state-of-the-art systems and services and engage with peer companies and trade associations to obtain the proper technology, and you will implement operational measures that assign threat levels and execute accompanying mitigation measures. At the same time, you will direct and provide oversight of NA Travel Security, the Executive Protection Detail and significant domestic and international contracts for Guard Force, Electronic Security Enterprise Systems and Supply Chain Security.
  • Coordinating and performing security investigations in partnership with BASF Legal & Compliance teams, you will also liaise with external Security and Law Enforcement partners such as the Department of Homeland Security, FBI, FDA and DEA, as well as the ACC and ASIS.
  • Supporting the Global Security mission, you will both directly and indirectly assign staff to its development and execution, and will interchangeably lead and participate on Global Security initiatives where a common threat is present or where a policy statement can be tailored by region. Furthermore, this will contribute to a reduction in security incidents globally.

If you...

  • Hold a college degree, preferably in a criminal justice program, complemented by graduation from a Federal, State or Local law enforcement training academy and/or related training from a military institution. Additionally, you will possess training certifications from accredited Security Professional groups.
  • Have 15+ years' experience in the Security field related to Corporate Security or Asset Protection, including demonstrated experience across Chemical Security, Supply Chain Security, Threat Assessment Incidents and Workplace Violence Prevention. Experience collaborating or leading across different regions and/or with multi-cultural teams will be highly valued.
