We are looking for a Business Analyst & Sales Support - Industrial Formulators to join our Industrial Formulators, Care Chemicals team in Florham Park, NJ.

Industrial formulators deliver value by servicing high-value life-science and industrial specialty segments with high-performance ingredients used across diverse industrial applications.  We elevate everyday outcomes through superior chemistry, that boosts application and process performance, supplying surfactants, chelates, and polymers to industrial customers and end-use markets including agrochemical; CASE raw materials (emulsion/polymer manufacturing, additive manufacturing, pigment dispersions); pulp and paper; water treatment; rubber/plastic; textile & leather; health, and contract/chemical processing manufacturing.

 

We are seeking an analytical, results-driven Business Analyst - Sales Support professional - to join the Industrial Formulators, Care Chemicals team. In this role, you will play a key part in driving data-driven commercial decisions, optimizing business processes, and proving cross-functional support to account managers.  You will own reporting, forecasting, and business analytics while equipping the commercial team with timely insights and tools that improve decision-making and customer responsiveness, and overall business performance. 

 

You will support sales and business planning activities by delivering concise analysis, actionable recommendations, and operational support that enable effective sales execution.  Working closely with leadership, sales, marketing, supply chain, technical, and customer service teams, you will help monitor business performance, improve data quality, coordinate commercial activities, and streamline sales processes. By connecting data insights with execution, you will help identify growth opportunities, improve forecast visibility, strengthen account planning, and help the sales organization operate more efficiently and effectively.

 

As a Business Analyst & Sales Support - Industrial Formulators, you create chemistry by…

 

  • Business Performance Analytics: Financial forecast & modeling, conducting in-depth research and analysis on monthly sales performance, market trends, pricing, and supply/demand identifying deviations and generating actionable insights that support business revenue generation.  Analysis includes 3rd party and transfer business sectors.
  • Sales Planning and Forecast Support: Coordinate forecasting, budgeting, target setting, and business-review processes; consolidate inputs, challenge assumptions, and improve the accuracy and visibility of commercial plans. Own monthly sales variances analysis, pipeline modeling, and reporting of key commercial KPIs. Partner with sales and technical teams to  define, monitor, and report New Business Development (NBD) pipeline,  identify gaps, and support corrective actions.   
  • Sales Support: Support account managers through customer analytics, pricing history, opportunity tracking, account planning, and sales follow-up activities.  Conduct win/loss and deal profitability analysis to support strategic commercial decision making.   
  • Presentation Development: Develop high-quality internal and customer-facing presentations for strategic review, business updates, and external engagements, ensuring message clarity and branding alignment
  • Order 2 Cash Support: Monitor price discrepancies, revenue leakage risks, and operational issues affecting order execution.  Support compliance, governance, and control processes while maintaining customer and commercial master data within ERP systems. 
  • Project Management: Support commercial, digitalization, and process improvement initiatives from concept through implementation.  Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver projects on-time and achieve measurable business impact.   

 

If you…

 

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Analytics, Supply chain, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Bring relevant experience in business analysis, sales operations, commercial excellence, customer service, finance, sales support, or a related commercial function. 
  • Are independent, highly organized, and detailed-oriented, and self-motivated, with a strong sense of ownership and commercial acumen
  • Are able to work independently within a matrix organization while effectively collaborate across functions
  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, identify meaningful trends, and translate insights into clear business actions.
  • Are highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, charts, VBA), PowerPoint (Thinkcell/Empower), COBUS, OCEAN, Power BI, Tableaus for reporting and analytics.  
  • Are familiar with CRM/ERP systems such as SAP or Salesforce, with the ability to leverage data to support commercial decision-making.
  • Possess strong organizational, communication, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Bring a proactive, customer-focused mindset and thrive in situations requiring adaptability initiative, and sound judgement in the face of ambiguity

Pay transparency

 

BASF is committed to pay transparency practices. The competitive pay range for this role is $90,640 – $113,300. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
