Now hiring! Asset and Product Manager
Florham Park, NJ (Hybrid)
We are looking for an Asset and Product Manager to join our Care Chemicals team in Florham Park, NJ.
Come create chemistry with us!
BASF’s Care Chemicals division is a globally leading supplier to the cosmetics, detergents and cleaning industries. We also offer solutions for technical applications and crop protection. Together with our customers, we create innovative solutions to meet the current and future needs of society more sustainably. We contribute to the long-term success of our customers’ brands with a broad range of products and concepts via our global network of production and development sites.
As the Asset and Product Manager, you will have responsibility for the profitability, growth, and strategic direction of BASF’s APG (alkyl polyglucoside) portfolio for North America. You will connect market and customer needs with pricing, supply, operations, and long-term asset strategy across regional production and BASF’s global supply network.
As an Asset and Product Manager, you create chemistry by…
- Owning portfolio performance: Drive sustainable, profitable growth for the APG portfolio through disciplined management of price, volume, product mix, cost, margin, and customer opportunities.
- Developing product and asset strategy: Develop, communicate, and execute product and asset strategies, including portfolio positioning, capacity requirements, asset utilization, supply-network options, technology, scale, and cost competitiveness.
- Leading pricing and margin management: Establish pricing strategies with business management; support customer bids; strengthen pricing-process discipline; evaluate raw-material and other cost movements; and recommend timely corrective actions.
- Turning market intelligence into action: Monitor market trends, customer needs, competitive activity, supply-demand dynamics, market pricing, raw-material developments, and technology changes using internal and external sources.
- Managing business planning and KPIs: Support forecasting, scenario analysis, and portfolio-performance reviews. Track margin, volume, mix, asset utilization, forecast quality, and progress against strategic growth priorities.
- Building strong stakeholder alignment: Collaborate closely with Care Chemicals sales, marketing, finance, operations, production, supply chain, other product managers, global network partners, and BASF platform groups.
If you…
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Business, Marketing, Sales, or another relevant technical or commercial discipline.
- Preferably have over 5 years of commercial experience in product management, marketing, sales, finance, or a related commercial role.
- Demonstrate strong financial and analytical capability, including pricing, margin, cost, and scenario analysis.
- Can translate market, customer, financial, and operational information into clear recommendations, priorities, and executable plans.
- Have experience collaborating across commercial, supply-chain, operational, manufacturing, and financial teams.
- Exhibit excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
