WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

As Technical Operator, your responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring effective operation of machines and equipment in the production process. Develop and train staff on site Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to promote continuous improvement and adherence to best practices.
• Acting as the first point of contact for unplanned stoppages, liaising with the maintenance department to ensure equipment safety and functionality. Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, fault finding, supporting repairs, and troubleshooting production and maintenance issues to resolve them quickly.
• Occasionally stepping in for the Shift Supervisor, including activities such as maintaining production plans, leading the shift team, and ensuring all paperwork is completed and updated. Additionally, support out-of-hours issues to prevent supply chain disruptions and ensure smooth production processes.
• Completing batch sheets and input of data into SAP/GAP ensuring that there is no discrepancy in the data and that all information is accurate.
• Contributing to site EHS & Quality performance by adherence to policies & procedures, highlighting and reporting incidents and near misses. Ensuring housekeeping standards are maintained at the highest level. Supporting the production leadership to identify MOC's that are required and support process manager to complete MOC’s. 

WHAT YOU OFFER

• You will have experience in a demanding production environment in a minor technical and machine operation role with qualification to back up experience or willingness and agreement to obtain if required (EAL level 2 NVQ in performing engineering operations with level 3 NVQ in engineering technical support, EAL level 2 NVQ in performing manufacturing operations)
• You will be able to demonstrate good leadership skills (time management, fault finding & problem solving, breakdowns, SOP training and coaching, deputization for production supervisor) or a willingness to develop the skills required to fulfil the demands of the role.
• You should have good Math’s and English skills ideally GCSE minimum grade C, along with strong computer literacy including use of Microsoft packages and SAP and Electric FLT license for counterbalance trucks / Electric pedestrian counterbalance forklift truck license.
