At BASF plc's Widnes site, our Centre of Excellence for Pest Control, we take pride in manufacturing and packing high-quality rodenticides. The site was acquired from Sorex Limited at the end of 2008. The new business, launched in 2009, combined the renowned technical expertise, products, and skills of both BASF and Sorex, creating a powerhouse in pest control solutions.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Looking for a hands-on role in a high-quality manufacturing environment? Join us at the BASF plc Widnes site, where your skills in production and working with complex machinery will help deliver essential pest control solutions. In this role your responsibilities will include:
- Maintain safe, ethical manufacturing practices by following all HSE regulations, engaging in safety trainings, and reporting any unsafe conditions.
- Monitor production quality through routine checks, accurate data recording, and timely corrective actions to meet all Quality Standards.
- Operate complex machinery for powder, wheat, and liquid mix production while minimizing losses and ensuring precise batch documentation.
- Uphold high standards of cleanliness and organization across the Production Area, ensuring equipment and workspaces meet company requirements.
- Safely operate hand pallet trucks and forklifts, performing basic maintenance checks to ensure reliable and efficient equipment performance.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by sharing ideas and supporting activities that drive productivity and operational efficiency.
WHAT YOU OFFER
- Level 2 NVQ in Performing Manufacturing Operations (or equivalent manufacturing skillset).
- Possessing an electric hand pallet / forklift truck driving licence would be preferred but not essential.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong numeracy and literacy skills, with the ability to use digital tools such as IT systems, scanners, tablets, and related technology.
- Ability to work effectively within a flexible, shift‑based schedule.

Location: Widnes
Shifts: Rotating Monday-Friday early morning and late afternoons and evenings including occasional weekends (excluding night shifts).
