WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
- You help deliver high-quality web applications that improve BASF Coatings services for internal and external users.
- You work in an agile, cross-functional DevOps team and support the product lifecycle from concept to go-live, with a strong focus on quality assurance and test automation.
- You help define risk-based test approaches and design automated testing solutions to ensure applications meet their functional and non-functional quality goals.
- You build a strong understanding of business processes, user journeys, and application workflows to create meaningful, risk-based test coverage.
- You collaborate closely with software developers to validate new features, identify defects early, and improve overall testability.
- You design, build, and maintain automated tests for functional, regression, and integration scenarios, and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines to support reliable quality checks across multiple applications.
- You use modern QA tools and frameworks, such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Postman, or SOAP UI, to test web applications and APIs.
- You align closely with product owners, designers, and developers on acceptance criteria, test coverage, and shared quality expectations.
- You contribute to a reliable automated QA process by reviewing test results, supporting quality gates, and helping development teams identify and resolve issues early in close collaboration with an international QA team.
- You document test approaches, test cases, and quality results in a structured way to support transparency, maintainability, and continuous improvement.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
- 3+ years of professional experience in software quality assurance, software testing, or quality engineering in an IT environment.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a comparable qualification gained through practical experience.
- Experience creating and maintaining test plans, test cases, test reports, and structured testing documentation.
- Experience identifying, documenting, and validating defects, as well as testing web applications and APIs; exposure to cloud-based environments is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with at least one automated testing framework such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or Cucumber/Gherkin.
- Practical experience with common QA tools for API and functional testing, such as Postman or SOAP UI.
- Practical experience with at least one programming language used for test automation, such as JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python.
- Familiarity with service-oriented or microservice-based architectures.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines or interest in working with automated quality checks in delivery pipelines.
- Experience working across multiple applications or projects and the ability to balance testing priorities in a dynamic environment.
- A structured, analytical, and collaborative way of working, with strong problem-solving and self-organization skills.
- Strong communication skills in Spanish and English, both written and spoken, to collaborate effectively across locations and time zones.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban and experience working in agile development teams.
