JOIN THE TEAM

We develop and operate platforms for cloud and container solutions for our internal business partners and DevOps teams to provide a clear and secure framework within they can develop, operate and run cloud-native applications. We are looking for a highly motivated colleague who can help to provide specialized expertise and guidance on assessing risks, identifying potential gaps and providing security solutions to mitigate risk and protect our environment. As a Senior Container Security Specialist you are end-to-end responsible for our Container Platform based on Kubernetes, as part of a small DevOps-organized team.  You will contribute to the development and implementation of security solutions for container clusters in our hybrid cloud environment (Azure, AWS, private cloud) considering digital trends like Zero Trust, DevSecOps.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• You design and operate our hybrid container platform based on Rancher/Kubernetes (onpremise/Azure/AWS/Aliyun).
• You consult our internal business partners and DevOps teams to find a suitable container solution for their requirements and how to integrate into the BASF application landscape.
• You are responsible for the continuous development of the container platform and its integration into the BASF landscape and CI/CD pipelines.
• Furthermore you design security concepts for the platform and support in automation and provisioning of secure container solutions.
• You assess the infrastructure against different security regulatory, industry and internal standards and identify and implement the necessary security architecture requirements.
• With your expertise you can identify weaknesses within the IT infrastructure at an early stage and find ways for optimization.
• You implement and maintain the platform services within BASFs IT service management processes in collaboration with other involved teams, applying automation to enable efficient process handling.
• You manage the various dependencies within the organization

QUALIFICATIONS

Degree in business computer science, natural sciences or a comparable qualification.
Several years of relevant professional experience in the field of Kubernetes cluster administration and management (ideally Rancher or comparable solutions), preferably in a hybrid environment.
Deep understanding of security requirements and solutions for container orchestration & lifecycle requirements and experience with products such as NeuVector, Qualys.
You have knowledge of common cyber security standards (such as ISO 2700x, NIST, CSA, etc.) and typical protective measures in the field of container security. 
You are characterized by a professional appearance and a high willingness to learn and perform.
You also have analytical, problem structuring and solution development skills.
Your strengths include a team and service orientation as well.
You can demonstrate fluent communication skills in English (spoken and written)
