WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

We are BASF Coatings’ Data & AI Office - a global, product‑minded team building the enterprise lakehouse and the AI platform that power decision‑making, automation, and innovation across our business. Our lakehouse (Unity Catalog) has been fully operational for over a year, giving every function a governed, high‑trust data foundation for analytics and AI services. 

We combine platform engineering, data integration, and AI engineering with a pragmatic, business‑first mindset to deliver measurable impact - guided by a clear AI framework and an agentic approach to scale.

• In your new role, you are responsible for developing innovative applications with a strong focus on Artificial Intelligence.
• Together with your colleagues, you analyze complex datasets and implement intelligent algorithms for real-world solutions.
• Additionally, you design user-friendly front-end interfaces and high-performance back-end systems.
• Not least, you optimize existing processes and contribute to the continuous improvement of our digital platforms.
• Be right in the middle of it: You actively work on projects that support real business applications.

WHAT YOU OFFER

• ongoing studies in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• initial practical experience in programming and data analysis, ideally through projects or internships
• Teamplayer with a strong analytical mindset and passion for innovative technologies
• solid knowledge of Python and SQL, familiarity with libraries like PySpark, NumPy, scikit-learn, and Keras, and experience in optimizing RAG-systems
• excellent English skills as well as proficiency with common tools and databases
