Application Specialist in Energy Trading and Risk Management System (m/f/d)

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

We are seeking an Application Owner for our Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) system, who will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation, functionality, and continuous improvement of the system. 

• System Management: You oversee the day-to-day operation of the ETRM system, ensuring its availability, performance, and reliability to support trading activities. You manage interfaces with other systems, making sure that data in the system is complete and reliable. 
• Stakeholder Engagement: You act as the primary link between application and various stakeholders, including traders, risk managers, accountants and digitalization teams inside and outside of BREn. You support users through configuration, troubleshooting, reporting, and automation within the system.
• Process Improvement: You identify opportunities for process optimization to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the ETRM environment. You keep an eye on market trends and new developments concerning energy trading systems.
• Training and Support: You provide training and support to end-users, ensuring they are fully equipped to utilize the ETRM system effectively. Develop user manuals and training materials as needed. You ensure documentation of system processes in compliance with audit standards.
• Vendor Management: You coordinate with ETRM software vendor for upgrades, support, and troubleshooting. You evaluate and recommend software enhancements or new solutions to meet evolving business needs.
• Project Management: Lead and participate in ETRM-related projects, e.g. a release upgrade, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.

WHAT YOU OFFER

• experience in energy markets, a relevant degree, and at least 3 years of experience in managing ETRM systems or similar applications
• strong analytical skills and a good understanding of numerical data
• proficiency in system analysis, troubleshooting, and user support
• excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skill in English, German is a plus
• familiarity with programming languages and data analysis tools is an advantage
