WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Our unit, Group Accounting & Financial Reporting, prepares the consolidated financial statements and is responsible for the management and financial reporting of the BASF Group. We aim to strengthen our team, particularly in the following areas:

• You will contribute to the preparation of annual, quarterly, and monthly financial statements of the BASF Group, as well as the associated internal and external reporting.
• You will independently handle IFRS accounting topics and serve as the central contact person for related questions, especially from our subsidiaries. Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing the relevant notes to the financial statements.
• Furthermore, you will conduct in-depth analyses and professional assessments of accounting issues as well as actively contribute to the conceptual development of accounting practices, for example, in response to changes in IFRS.
• You will support the reporting quality and collaborate with global contacts in this context.
• As part of projects that are undertaken jointly with other BASF untis, you will identify and address accounting aspects.
• You will support the implementation of digitalization measures in management and financial reporting through innovative approaches and methods.

WHAT YOU OFFER

• completed degree in business adminsitration (Bachelor or Master), preferably with a focus on financial accounting or auditing
• in-depth theoretical knowledge of international financial reporting under IFRS and a strong interest in regulatory developments in the IFRS environment, which you follow closely
• relevant professional experience, preparation for a professional certification or professional experience in academia are advantageous
• strong analytical skills, which you apply in a goal-oriented and solution-focused manner
• proficient in using common IT systems and Microsoft Office applications
• strong communication skills in German and English, which enable you to present the results of your analyses convincingly both orally and in writing
• ideally, initial experience in working with international companies and interdisciplinary teams
