WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

You actively support our Exposure Modelling unit to ensure that the use of our active substances in agricultural practice poses minimal risk to the environment. The unit is responsible for risk and exposure assessment of pesticide and biocide active substances in the environment.

  • In your new role, you are responsible for the implementation of landscape-level exposure models to support the environmental risk assessment for active substances in plant protection products.
  • You contribute to the development of new approaches to describe environmental exposure pathways relevant for active substances at landscape level.
  • Coordinating with project teams to set realistic timelines, plan and finalize tasks and summarize key results for dissemination is also part of your role.
  • Last but not least, you represent the Environmental Fate Modeling function in internal and external teams. 

WHAT YOU OFFER

  • PhD or MSc in environmental sciences, earth sciences, hydrology or a similar field
  • in-depth knowledge of conducting geospatial assessments related to addressing hydrological or ecological topics
  • experience with exposure modeling related to the environmental fate and behavior of crop protection chemicals at the landscape level, specifically experience in drift modelling is of advantage
  • confident handling of geographic information systems (GIS), specifically with ESRI software family and/or QGIS, and programming/scripting languages such as R, Fortran, Python
  • excellent communication skills in English are essential, German is a plus
  • Members from states outside the European Economic Area and Switzerland are requested to send their residence/work permit, including the relevant supplementary sheet.
