WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

As a Shift Plant Operator, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Shift Plant Foreman and Deputy Shift Foreman in producing and finishing products to meet planned Sales and Operations requirements efficiently and safely. 

 

  • Reviewing the handover book and completing ongoing tasks from the previous shift.

  • Placing raw materials on the production floor and preparing necessary solutions.

  • Managing the removal of empty containers post-charging and ensuring the proper setup of filtering equipment for product filtration into bulk storage or drums, while monitoring for spills.

  • Verifying the accuracy of filled product weights and ensuring they pass Quality Control standards.

  • Collecting and preparing empty drums for filling, ensuring stencil markings are accurate.

  • Recording daily dips of bulk stock tanks and other required data, while assisting in maintaining high safety and housekeeping standards in the work area.

  • Cleaning equipment as needed, including basket strainers and cooling vessels, and assisting the foreman in monitoring the Distributed Control System (DCS) and scrubbers.

WHAT YOU OFFER

  • Completed Grade 12 qualification with Mathematics and Science, along with a minimum NQF Level 2 qualification in Chemical Operations learnership.

  • A valid forklift license and previous experience in a chemical or dispersions plant.

  • Familiarity with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSACT) and a commitment to maintaining high safety and housekeeping standards in the workplace.
