BASF Coatings UK Limited supplies Automotive OEM and component manufacturers with all four layers of coatings – e-coats, primers, basecoats and clearcoats. We have a significant presence of service staff across the UK’s car and automotive components manufacturing plants. Our Automotive Refinish coatings are approved by most of the leading manufacturers for use in their authorised body shops. We focus on eco-efficient waterborne and high-solids coatings with low solvent content. We supply Glasurit and R-M refinish paints and provide staff training.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Located at a prestigious motor manufacturer in the Southeast – England, you will work closely with the customer to support and develop new and exciting automotive coating colours to meet customer requirements, whilst supporting BASF goals.
- This includes colour styling, matching and development of bespoke and limited-edition colours for the customer.
- Continually monitor, modify and rebalance formulations outside of the batch tinting targets to reduce the number of tints required for future batch productions.
- Develop and continuously improve processes and procedures to support improvement of colour development and ultimately colour harmony.
WHAT YOU OFFER
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grade 4 or above) or equivalent, and/or Level 3 NVQ in Manufacturing or Production.
- Expertise in bespoke colour matching with strong proficiency in IT systems and adaptability to new technologies.
- Practical experience using spectrophotometers and interpreting Pantone references for accurate colour development.
- Ability to communicate well with BASF and customer teams to support and drive the innovation of new colours and technology.
- While adhering to BASF’s health and safety policies and the customer’s site regulations, you must also demonstrate exceptional accuracy and maintain a practical, hands-on approach focused on delivering high-quality results.
- In addition, you should demonstrate strong teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively across all organisational levels.
