Senior Communications & Advocacy Specialist (m/f/d)

We are currently seeking a Senior Communications & Advocacy Specialist to join our Communications and Government Relations team who will guide the political dialogue between the BASF group and key political actors.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

• Engage in advocacy for corporate themes and Agricultural Solutions.
• Monitor policy and legislative trends relevant to BASF in Belgium and Luxembourg, including areas such as Circular Economy, Plastics Strategy, Bio-Economy, and Agricultural Solutions.
• Assess topics for their potential impact on BASF and its client sectors, identifying opportunities and risks.
• You develop possible solutions and advocate for them and BASF's interests proactively with a diverse spectrum of external policymakers and stakeholders, including authorities, trade associations, trade unions and NGO’s.
• Internally you work closely together with the Manager Com & Advocacy and the colleagues from our Brussels office. Externally one of your engagement in networks entails participation in associations.
• Pro-actively supporting internal communications in the team.
• You are involved in cross-thematic projects
• Disciplinary and functionally report to the Head of Communications and Government Relations CC Benelux

WHAT YOU OFFER

• You have a university degree and have already professional experience in the field of internal and external project management, communications, consultancy or advocacy.
• You have an understanding of Belgium institutions, and are eager to develop expertise in this area.
• You understand complex technical and political situations and have the skills to engage with stakeholders.
• Therefore, you are curious, open, pro-active and have communicative skills.
• You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Dutch and French and experience in social media constitute additional assets.
• In addition, you are characterized by your ability to work in a team, as well as your distinctive work organization and intercultural orientation.
