Production Team Lead

By constant innovation during the years, BASF A/S Ballerup has developed a unique powder formulation technology. We are specialised in microencapsulated formulations of vitamins, and carotenoids. Our products are mainly used in the food, beverage and medical industries.  We employ approximately 135 employees in Production, QA, QC, Process Management, EHS, Engineering, Maintenance, Logistics, and Administration. 

We are now looking for a Team Lead to join our Production Department and help drive operational excellence, team engagement, and continuous improvement.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

As Team Lead, you will report to the Production Manager and be part of a dynamic leadership team that includes other team leads and our production support team. Your working hours will primarily be weekdays during daytime shifts. However, flexibility may be required depending on operational and organisational needs.

You will play a key role in ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality production while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Especially as we navigate ongoing organizational and process changes driven by a dynamic environment. As Team Lead, you will be instrumental for the implementation of these changes to achieve successful outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead with visibility and motivation, promoting BASF’s values to ensure employee well-being and a strong safety culture.
• Overseeing daily operations on dedicated production lines, ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to plans. This includes managing deviations, coordinating with QA/QC and planning and driving performance through productivity tracking.
• Lead a team of ±20 operators in shift rotation by providing clear guidance and performance management. You will ensure training and certification, manage resource planning and handle staffing deviations to maintain smooth operations.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety and quality in a GMP and FSSC22000-regulated environment.
• Represent the production team during customer and regulatory audits, as well as site visits.

WHAT YOU OFFER

We are seeking a proactive and structured leader who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about developing people and processes.

• Experience in a similar leadership role, ideally within the food or pharmaceutical industry.
• Preferably you are a qualified engineer or similar by experience.
• A motivation to improve workflows and performance.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across departments.
• Fluency in Danish and English.
• The ability to bring calm, focus, and flexibility while driving results in a changing environment.
• A solid understanding of compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Experience in automated production processes is a plus.
