WELCOME

You are part of the Electrical Power Supply and Grid Infrastructure group (ESA/IE), which is part of the Infrastructure Department at BASF Antwerpen NV. ESA/IE is responsible for the electrical infrastructure at this site, from the 150 kV connections to the Elia grid down to the low‑voltage connections of all production plants. ESA/IE is a strongly integrated organization with all the necessary competencies for this task embedded in its structure, including asset management, engineering and project management, construction, and maintenance services covering the full electrical infrastructure scope.

YOUR CHALLENGE

  • You are responsible for the engineering and project management of electrical infrastructure projects.
  • In collaboration with the asset management team, you define the concept and scope of projects. You define specifications and develop the electrical design of primary assets (power transmission side) and secondary assets (protection and control systems, auxiliaries) within the projects.
  • You follow up on and report on projects from preparation through implementation, with a focus on scope, deadlines, budget, quality, and safety.
  • You draft project applications and, together with other project managers and stakeholders, define the project organization and ensure the availability of the necessary resources.
  • You support colleagues from maintenance and construction, as well as their contractors, during project implementation.
  • You further develop expertise in our specific asset types and commonly used materials and contribute to the development of up‑to‑date and improved standards and typicals. You contribute to improving our long‑term cost position by assessing the potential of new technologies and materials available on the market.

OUR IDEAL MATCH

  • You hold a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and preferably have at least 5 years of relevant work experience in electrical distribution or grid infrastructure.
  • You have a strong interest in technology and are passionate about overcoming complex challenges.
  • You are a people manager with excellent project management and analytical skills. You are pragmatic, solution-oriented, and we can count on you to get things done the right way.
  • You are well organized and have strong technical as well as social skills.
  • You are a team player who communicates smoothly, is customer-oriented, proactive, and driven.
  • You have a solid operational knowledge of MS Office and are able to adapt to specific engineering tools used in our projects.
  • Safety is in your DNA, and you have a solid understanding of availability concepts.
  • You are able to evaluate, track, and actively mitigate risks.
  • You can work in an environment where accuracy is critical and where the final “bit” can determine success or failure.
  • You are willing to commit to a long-term career in power supply infrastructure and are motivated to continuously develop your knowledge and expertise through on-the-job training.
  • You are a native Dutch speaker, fluent in English, and have a good knowledge of German, or you are willing to learn German.

OUR OFFER

  • A warm welcome during our introduction days and guidance from experienced colleagues.
  • A growing salary package with room for your own choices, such as a mobility budget for a lease bicycle and/or electric lease car, and the option to install home charging infrastructure.
  • An annual bonus based on your own performance and the company's results.
  • Various social benefits, including a pension plan, hospitalization, and outpatient health insurance for you and your family.
  • A good work-life balance: Enjoy flexible hours and no less than 38 vacation days. You can also work from home regularly.
  • A healthy and varied menu in our company restaurant, monthly fruit distribution, and meal vouchers.
  • Alternative transport options, such as free bus transportation and carpooling.
  • Plenty of opportunities for self-development through our extensive training offer and internal job market.
