RESPONSIBILITIES

Government Relations

- Development and implementation of long, mid- and short term strategic communication plan on internal and external communication in line with corporate global and regional communication and advocacy guidance.

- Strategic comms advise and continuous support for MD and other management members in external events (briefing, presence, representing ad hoc).

Communications:

o Internal Communications: Coordination of all activities focusing on BASF internal image, management dialogue with employees (Town Halls, mailings, internal social platforms). Culture Change program steering. Ad hoc actions for BASF Central Asia employees.

o External Communications:

▪ Media relations: Establishment and management of the relations with media community in Central Asia and creating media engagement opportunities.

▪ Social media: Managing Central Asia social media accounts including Country Cluster Head’s Linkedin page.

▪ Corporate branding: Ensuring the correct and consistent use of brand components by following the BASF corporate brand guideline.

▪ Crisis communication: As a member of Crisis Incident Management Team in the Country Cluster, steering all the crisis communication for employees and for the external stakeholders in line with relevant internal and external parties.

▪ Support local Business Units with all their communication needs (media appearance, event management, etc)

▪ Societal Engagement: Design and execute projects in Central Asia to create engagement with the society by partnering NGO’s and other Internal related parties.

Advocacy:

o Works closely with the Managing Director to align both corporate and local issues to achieve the desired outcomes. Undertake regular reviews to make sure all items & issues are covered.

o Leading role in all advocacy activities needed for local Business Units in advocacy topics. Managing contacts with all key BASF organizations.

o Represents BASF with key political contacts, on external forums as necessary and with public affairs audiences.

o Develops and maximizes the usefulness of links with key opinion formers and relevant decision-makers in Central Asia.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

- University education, direction Communication(sciences) or Public Affairs

- Proficiency in English both written and spoken

Professional Experience / Technical skills:

- at least five years' work experience in business communication in a comparable position.

- knowledge of the local media landscape as well as governmental processes.

- extensive knowledge of and experience in Communications and Advocacy.

- experience in leading a (cross-cultural) team

- organizational awareness

Soft skills:

- Proactive approach

- Outstanding analytical thinking and developed Strategic thinking

- Well-developed communication and interpersonal understanding skills

- Organizational Awareness at a high level
