Objectives of the Position         

 

Own it

  • The position takes responsibility of sample logistics by coordinating, supervising and completing sample warehousing management in China. 

 

Drive it 

  • The position drives customer satisfaction by meeting agreed service levels costcompetitively under contract. At the same time, the role must ensure compliance with government regulations, BASF policies, and Transportation and Distribution Safety (TDS) requirements.

 

Excel in it

  • This position should actively identify improvement opportunities within its area of responsibility and support team initiatives, including but not limited to internal process optimization, external collaboration, and digitalization.

 

Main Tasks

 

  1. Day-to-day operations, process execution, according to requirements
  • Manage LSP to carry out daily operational tasks (sample receiving, picking, packing, labeling, filling, stocktaking, write-off and onsite management, etc.) in line with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety/quality requirements.
  • Monitor process performance (such as on-time MIGO and PGI) and take immediate corrective actions for deviations.
  • Maintain  on-site 5S performance.
  • Coordinate with relevant teams (TDS/PSR/IMP.&EXP./LSP) to ensure smooth operations and handoffs.
  • Verify and ensure logistics expenses related to sample warehousing activities are settled in a timely and compliant manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of transactions, logs, and shift handovers for your responsibilities.
  • Follow regulatory, environmental, and company policies in all operational activities.

 

  1. Communicate BU users and stakeholders
  • Respond to transactional user questions and provide clear status updates (such as goods receiving, delivering and filling, etc.) within agreed SLAs.
  • Collect user feedback and offer improvement suggestions to process owners.
  • Share and implement best practices and processes with other teams regarding warehouse management.

 

  1. Resolve NCM (Non-Conformance Management)
  • Investigate non-conformances, document root cause(s), and propose containment measures.
  • Coordinate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) with cross-functional teams until closure.
  • Update NCM records, generate reports, and escalate unresolved issues per escalation matrix.
  • Contribute to tracking NCM trends and suggest practical improvements to reduce recurrence.

 

  1. Obtain required certification
  • Complete and maintain required certifications (e.g., IATA Dangerous Goods and 安全生产管理人员资格证书) and notify manager of upcoming renewals.
  • Complete mandatory training and e‑learning (e.g., TDS) on schedule.
  • Maintain certification records, renewals, and ensure valid credentials where required.

 

  1. Support sample checks of process compliance
  • Perform regular sample checks and audits to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies (including TDS requirements).
  • Accurately complete customs and regulatory documentation for sample shipments when required.
  • Record findings, follow up on assigned corrective actions, and track closure of discrepancies.
  • Use sample check insights to support training needs and suggest SOP updates.

 

  1. Support LSP performance management
  • Manage onsite LSPs to perform regular stocktaking and ensure the consistency between physical inventory and SAP system records.
  • Provide accurate data and practical observations for LSP performance tracking (on‑time picking & packing, filing efficiency, damages, claims, costs).
  • Cooperate with LSPs and internal stakeholders during reviews and improvement activities.
  • Report LSP issues promptly and support agreed corrective actions.

 

  1. Conduct analysis to identify improvement
  • Collect and analyze operational data (lead times, error rates, throughput) to spot improvement opportunities.
  • Use root‑cause tools (5W1H, fishbone) to investigate recurring issues and propose prioritized fixes.
  • Prepare concise, data‑driven input or reports with actionable recommendations for process optimization.
  • Track and report on the impact of implemented improvements for your area.

 

  1. Support team initiatives
  • Actively identify improvement opportunities within your daily work and propose practical suggestions.
  • Participate in team initiatives focused on process optimization, collaboration improvements, and digitalization efforts.
  • Support project tasks, testing of solutions, and rollout activities.

 

  1. Other ad-hoc tasks
  • Perform other necessary work tasks assigned by line manager per business needs. 

 

Minimum Education and Qualification Required for the Position

 

  1. Education:
  • College degree or higher in international trade, logistics (especially warehouse management), supply chain, or a related field

 

  1. Work Experience:
  • At least 3 years’ experience in logistics or supply chain
  • Experience in the chemical industry preferred

 

  1. Technical & Professional Knowledge:
  • Strong written and spoken English and Mandarin
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Skilled in flowcharting; SAP experience preferred
  • Knowledge of imports, exports, foreign trade, and TDS preferred
  • Excellent multinational communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
