Objectives of the Position

• Assists lab manager of FR & Electrical testing lab to manage UL Yellow Card, etc. certificate related activities  and test harmonization activities for EP materials, and thus to assist head of Materials & Parts Testing to provide product certification and EP test harmonization supports to Research & Development, production, sales and marketing, business development, technical research & development and strategic objectives for company’s Engineering Plastics (EP) related Performance Material business in Asia Pacific in an effective way.

How You Will Do It

• Support the management of UL Yellow Card for all A-PMA products (both regional products and global products for PAX origin ones), including generating and maintaining an overview of all UL Cards products on performances, production sites, etc,, creation of new UL Yellow Card, PV or existing UL Yellow Card, etc., as well as UL FUS related activities.
• Support the management of UL DAP certification of FR & Electrical testing lab, including the planning of UL DAP accreditation audit preparation and corrective action implementation.
• Support EN 45545 – 2 certification related activities, including managing product list, interpretation of information on EN 45545 – 2 certifications, coordinating EN 45545-2 certification application for new product, etc.
• Support other product certification e.g. CQC certificate, related activities, including coordinating the certification application or renewal as well as the plant audit if needed.
• Drive for EP test harmonization by coordinating the test equipment and test methods harmonization in all EP testing lab in A-PMA (including both QC labs and R&D labs), coordinating for the qualification and monitoring of all 3rd testing parties and/or tollers relating to EP testing in Asia Pacific and contributing to cross region EP testing harmonization.
• Generate and document know-how relating to UL Yellow card, UL DAP certification, EN45545-2 and other certifications as well as EP test harmonization.
• Support regional as well as global R&D, Production, QM/QC, TS, TD, business team and customers of PM business from UL, EN 45545, etc. and EP testing harmonization point of view.
• Comply with BASF and country EHS standards and contribute to safety, health and environmental standards of FR & Electrical testing lab.
• Support to maintain FR & Electrical testing lab’s quality management system, including ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001, IATF 16949, etc.

What We Look For

Education:

• Master or above in material science and engineering, polymer science & engineering, analytical chemistry, polymer chemistry or other related chemistry.

Work Experience:

• More than 5 years’ working experience in materials evaluation/testing (e.g. tensile, flexural, impact, etc) or flame-retardant testing (e.g. UL 94, CTI, GW) and electrical test (e.g. dielectric strength, surface/volume resistivity) of polymer material testing;
• Over 2 years’ formulation development experience on EP materials (would be a plus if having experience on formation development of Flamer retardant EP materials).
• Experience in UL ID analysis or UL Yellow Card management or UL Follow Up Service-related activities would be a plus.
• Experience in project management or ISO 17025 quality management system would be a plus.

Technical & Professional Knowledge:

• Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience on polymer material evaluation/testing and/or flame-retardant testing;
• Solid understanding of the formulation of EP materials (esp. FR EP materials).
• Knowledge of UL related (e.g. ID analysis, UL Yellow card, UL DAP, UL Follow Up Services, etc.) would be a plus.
• Knowledge of ISO 17025 quality management system would be a plus.

Language:

• Ability to communicate in both oral and written English fluently.
• Ability to give comprehensive technical presentations in both mandarin and English.
• Ability to write comprehensive technical report in English.
