About The Role  

This position is responsible for conducting research on material physics to improve or generate new technical solutions, techniques, and processes to support strategic business growth objectives of BASF. 
Actively drive the technical development and knowledge gain for the company on respective analytical fields – material characterization.

How You Will Do It 

  • Collaborate with BASF R&D, business and production teams, develop technical solutions using existing and new technologies, methods etc., to enable sustainable business.
  • Proactively advise customer or internal partners
  • Continuously observe, analyze and assess scientific and technical trends in material characterization techniques
  • Closely follow and evaluate scientific literature, publications, and draw conclusions for the company
  • Initiate and manage mid to long term research projects
  • Develop new methods and procedures for testing or analysis, collect and analyze data, and work with lab chemists to maintain an accurate and up-to-date laboratory record.
  • Constantly discuss and align analytical activities with customers, peer colleagues and global team. Integrate the information to communicate well to internal teams
  • Present and document results

 

What We Look For 

  • Master’s degree in Material Science, Physics or Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • At least 2 years’ experience of conducting material physics experiments (including graduate period); Extensive hands-on practice on dielectric analysis
  • Understanding of polymer materials and structure-property relationship
  • Good English and Chinese skills
