Objectives of the Position

Take the functional leadership of the sub-team of ID Analysis (FTIR, DSC and TGA) and failure Analysis to assist lab leader of EP Material Testing lab to manage EP material testing lab, and thus to assist head of Materials & Parts Testing to provide ID analysis and failure analysis supports to Research & Development, production, sales and marketing, business development, technical research & development and strategic objectives for company’s Engineering Plastics related PM business in China and Asia Pacific in an effective way.

How You Will Do It

• Be responsible for operation of ID analysis (FTIR, DSC and TGA) and failure analysis related part of EP Material testing lab. Review test results; monitor progress of testing requests; participate in the process changes to be made; contribute to customer on-site audit; participate in the investigation on customer complaints on EP Material mechanical tests.
• Lead the execution of testing tasks and make the routine maintenance plan of equipment related to ID analysis and failure analysis of EP materials.
• Devise tests, procedures and apparatus required to achieve experimental results, help to develop new testing methods to meet requirements, and lead the training for new employees on ID analysis and failure analysis of EP materials.
• Write comprehensive reports and evaluations on the data obtained relating to ID analysis and failure analysis of EP materials.
• Participate in the CAPEX plan relating to ID analysis and failure analysis of EP material and execute the plan accordingly. Oversee the new equipment purchase for related tests and contact from the negotiation period of the deal.
• Contribute to the Asia Pacific part of global testbox program and the discussion for improve testing procedures relating to ID analysis and failure analysis.
• Contribute to the Asia Pacific part of testing harmonization and the global testing harmonization relating to ID analysis and failure analysis of EP materials.
• Contribute to the management of external resource of EP material testing relating to ID analysis and failure analysis, conduct external resource screening, audit, negotiation and monitoring.
• Co-operate with development/technical service/manufacturing/sales & marketing in providing technical assistance to demonstrate company products, and to solve field problems.
• Contribute to safety, health and environmental standards of EP & FR lab.
• Coordinate to maintain EP Material Testing lab to fulfil Quality Management System (ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949, etc.).

What We Look For

• Education: Master or Bachelor in polymer chemistry, analytics chemistry, material science or other polymer or chemistry related.
• Working Experience: Master with more than 5 years’ experience or bachelor with more than 8 years’ experience in material analysis (more than 3 years’ experience on FTIR, DSC and TGA of EP materials) and material testing of polymer materials; over 3 years’ supervisor or leadership experience and over one year’s ISO 17025 experience will be plus.
• Technical & Professional Knowledge: knowledge and hand-on experience on material analysis and material testing of polymer materials. Ability to deliver technical presentations in Mandarin and English; Ability to write comprehensive technical report by English; Knowledge on ISO 17025 system management will be a plus.
• Language: Ability to communicate with written and spoken English smoothly.
