About the Role
Regional Automation Engineer enables efficient and consistent manufacturing operations by deploying automation standards, delivering hands-on execution, and driving continuous improvement in system performance and reliability. The role ensures stable execution, data availability from production systems, and continuous improvement in performance, reliability, and scalability across sites.
How You Will Do It
- Automation Standards & System Deployment
- Translate global automation and digitalization standards into regional implementation and ensure consistent adoption across sites.
- Automation Opportunities & Roadmap Alignment
- Partner with operations and specialist teams to identify, prioritize, and deliver automation opportunities aligned to regional and global roadmaps.
- End-to-End Automation Project Execution
- Lead or support automation projects from concept through commissioning, optimization, and lifecycle management.
- Cross-Functional Interface Management
- Act as the regional interface between manufacturing sites, global automation, engineering, and IT/OT teams.
- Automation Systems Engineering & Support
- Provide hands-on technical support across MES, DCS, and SIS, including troubleshooting, integration, and commissioning.
- Data Connectivity for Automation Systems
- Enable data-driven manufacturing by ensuring reliable system integration and data readiness from OT environment for analytics and AI use cases.
- Reliability, Performance & Continuous Improvement
- Drive continuous improvement in reliability, scalability, and operability, while supporting change initiatives and sharing best practices.
- Robotics & Advanced Automation Scouting
- Scout and assess robotics and automation solutions for manufacturing operations, evaluating applicability, feasibility, and value potential across sites.
- Automation Security
- Implement cybersecurity measures for control systems
- Conduct risk assessments and develop improvement actions in accordance with global standards
What We Look For
- Education:
- Degree in electrical engineering, automation, or equivalent practical experience.
- Working Experience:

- 5+ years of experience in automation within a production environment.
- Strong communication skills in English and in Chinese.
- Technical & Professional Knowledge/Others
- Production management systems and MES
- Process automation systems (ABB 800xA, 800xA Batch, Freelance, Control Builder M)
- Configuration, commissioning, and troubleshooting experience
- OT Infrastructure
- Automation security fundamentals
- IEC 61511, functional safety management
- Network topology and system integration concepts
