About The Role 

  • You will work as an expert in process research and development, focusing on solid process and engineering.

How You Will Do It

  • Be responsible for compliance to EHS rules in your area of activity. Initiates safety review for experiments and ensures compliance to measures.
  • Initiate, manage, constantly discuss, and align research projects with other project partners including product development, technical groups, production, universities, etc. to develop solid handling, drying, mixing, extrusion and other relevant processes. Your expertise and results will be applied to both research and operation.
  • Provide technical support for business units in Asian Pacific region on related process development and optimization, troubleshooting, debottlenecking on field of solid characterization, conveying, drying, mixing, extrusion, etc.
  • Design, instruct, and coach lab members for project experiments, closely watching and achieving project milestones, timeline and budget, present and document results, file patents.
  • Join the expert network within the BASF global R&D community, operational units, technologies, and scientific partners to maintain state of the art expertise as well as monitor new practices and market trends 



What We Look For

  • Education: Ph.D. in chemical engineering, process engineering, mechanical engineering, material science and engineering, physical chemistry or related.
  • Working Experience: at least 1 year relevant work experience.
  • Hands-on experimental skills and in-depth knowledge on solid mechanics, powder technology, conveying, drying, mixing, extrusion, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to define research problems, design experimental plans, and independently drive a project forward.
  • Excellent data analysis and technical writing skills.
  • Prior industrial experience is a strong plus.
  • Modeling and simulation experience on solid related processes is highly valued
  • English and Chinese: Fluent.
  • Demonstrate a high level of creativity and personal initiative, strong interpersonal and communication skills to work well in global teams
