Main Tasks & Responsibilities 

1) Operates the utilities plants and maintains them in good operational order. 

2) The utilities plants include,

a) Treated water storage and supply system, Water Demineralization Plant, Cooling Water Systems and Fire Hydrant pumping facilities.

b) Steam Generation Plants and distribution system.

c) Air Compressors and compressed air supply system.

d) Nitrogen Membrane Generator, LIN storage & Evaporator and N2 distribution system.

3) Operates and monitors the running of the Diesel Engine Emergency Generator set during TNB power failure.

4) Records the daily stock level and consumption of utilities direct and indirect raw materials such as boiler gas fuel and water treatment chemicals.

5) Records daily utilities supply figures in the computerized log sheets.

6) Keeps the utilities plants and materials storage areas clean and tidy.

7) Assists maintenance craftsmen in carrying out maintenance works on the utilities equipment and machinery during a major overhaul or a plant shutdown.

8) To assists in the factory Emergency Response Plan and fire fighting as per instruction given or other emergency requirement.

9) To assists specific task assigned by the Snr. Manager-UGF or Supervisor UGF as and when required.

10) To support the implementation of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, 5S and Process Safety Management by practicing them accordingly to ensure full compliance with the requirements as stipulated in the system 

Qualification

1) SPM (min grade 2) with pass in English, or 3 years working experience in Boiler House, with 1st grade boiler man certification & with Engine driver grade 1.

2) Added knowledge of utilities plant like Demin. plant / Air Compressor / Nitrogen Membrane Generators & Evaporator

3) In depth technical knowledge of boiler operation technology and all the equipment and machinery design, functions, limitations, operability, maintainability and safety features.

4) Familiar and knowledgeable with local regulations with regards to boiler operation.

5) Ability to use computers for the normal management use and knowledgeable in the common software like Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Words and Microsoft PowerPoint.

6) Good level knowledge and ability to speak, read and write in the English language,

7) Familiar and experienced in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 18001, 5S which are management standards implemented and practised by BASF.
