Objectives of the Position
• Coordinate laboratory quality systems, SAP QM, LIMS and digitalization initiatives within PMA Quality Control Laboratory.
• Implement and maintain effective laboratory quality systems, data integrity practices, quality monitoring programs and analytical methods to ensure reliable quality data and continuous improvement of laboratory performance.
• Act as SAP QM Key User and LIMS Administrator to ensure sustainable operation, governance and continual improvement of laboratory digital systems.
• Coordinate periodical monitoring programs, measurement system analysis, statistical evaluation and special analytical programs to support product qualification, process stability and customer requirements.
• Support implementation of Quality Management System requirements, laboratory EHS compliance requirements and cross-functional quality improvement projects within PMA operation.
Main Areas of Responsibilities and Key Activities
1) SAP QM Key User
• Act as site SAP QM Key User for PMA operation.
• Create and maintain Inspection Plans, Master Inspection Characteristics, Sampling Procedures, Certificate of Analysis Profiles and QM master data.
• Support SAP QM testing, validation, user training and go-live stabilization activities.
• Perform periodic review of SAP QM master data and support continuous improvement projects.
• Ensure SAP QM implementation complies with BASF quality requirements and approved quality governance.
2) LIMS Administration
• Act as LIMS Administrator for PMA Laboratory under the system ownership of Quality Manager.
• Coordinate laboratory workflow setup, method setup, master data, report templates and user access management.
• Perform LIMS validation, change control support and user training activities.
• Ensure data integrity, traceability and auditability within LIMS.
• Support continuous improvement of LIMS workflow and laboratory digitalization.
3) Laboratory Quality Systems
• Coordinate laboratory quality system implementation and maintain laboratory training matrix and competency records.
• Maintain test method control and support laboratory procedure review.
• Ensure laboratory activities comply with ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and BASF quality requirements.
• Support laboratory continuous improvement activities and regional QC laboratory initiatives.
4) Method Validation and Technical Excellence
• Perform method validation, method verification and method transfer activities.
• Develop and improve laboratory testing methodologies.
• Review laboratory test performance and capability and support troubleshooting of analytical methods.
• Coordinate inter-laboratory comparisons and laboratory harmonization activities where applicable.
5) Measurement System Analysis and Statistics
• Coordinate annual MSA program and periodic Cpk review activities.
• Maintain laboratory statistical databases.
• Perform trend analysis, stability monitoring, process capability analysis and special data analysis.
• Support investigation of abnormal laboratory trends and provide statistical reports for management review when required.
6) Periodical Monitoring Program and special testing
• Review monthly production schedule and prepare periodical sample collection plan following product qualification requirements, including special testing tested in various internal and external lab.
• Issue sampling schedules to QC shift teams and monitor completion of sample collection.
• Raise test request and coordinate sample shipment, result tracking, maintain testing database.
• Coordinate with lab team on special sample analysis.
• Support quality review and product qualification activities and support closure of monitoring programs following QA approval.
• Prepare technical summaries or Special Analysis Report when required.
7) Laboratory EHS Systems and Compliance
• Ensure all EHS rules and guidelines are adhered to.
• Support implementation of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Maintain laboratory chemical inventory database, chemical register and SDS database for relevant laboratory activities.
• Coordinate periodic review of laboratory HIRA and support review of laboratory PPE, glove and chemical handling requirements.
• Support closure of laboratory EHS audit findings and maintain related laboratory EHS records.
• Support digitalization and traceability of laboratory compliance records.
8) Quality Data Management and Reporting
• Maintain laboratory databases and quality records.
• Compile laboratory quality reports, KPI summaries and management review inputs.
• Support audit data preparation and ensure effective electronic and system-based record management.
9) Special Projects and Quality Improvement
• Lead or support quality system digitalization projects.
• Support cost-saving and productivity improvement initiatives.
10) Quality Communication and Training
• Conduct laboratory technical training and training on new or revised methods.
• Support shift personnel competency development and promote laboratory best practices.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor Degree or above in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years working experience in laboratory, quality systems or quality control functions within chemical manufacturing environment.
- SAP QM knowledge, LIMS knowledge, ISO 9001, IATF 16949, method validation, MSA, statistical analysis, analytical chemistry, root cause analysis, quality data management, Microsoft Office applications. Power BI knowledge is preferred.
- Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Melayu.
