Description

 

1.    Keeping up SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) matters within maintenance team

·         Ensuring that all contractors always follow up BASF’s standards for SHE

·         Implementing BASF’s safety standard for maintaining and installing equipment

·         Actively closing the gaps for all SHE-related issues

2.    Maintaining equipment

·         Strategizing in preventive maintenance programmes for all equipment, electrical, and instrumentation devices

·         Being accountable in ensuring the plant to run smoothly without any disturbance due to equipment, electrical, and instrumentation devices failure

·         Coordinating contractors to perform maintenance works as per BASF’s guidelines and industrial best practices

·         Leading the activities with all other departments (production, PPC, and laboratory) to provide right maintenance services for their equipment

·         Ensuring the spare parts stocks’ availabilities for each equipment

·         Distributing and monitoring maintenance contractors’ daily activities

3.    Scheduling equipment maintenance

·         Being accountable and responsible for the completion of all scheduled maintenance activities

·         Leading in identifying all existing and new equipment and instrumentations to be registered in SAP

·         Managing Maintenance Supervisor and mechanical contractors to develop a reliable and robust preventive maintenance schedule as per BASF guideline

·         Being accountable for maintaining and updating the preventive maintenance schedule

·         Filing all records of preventive maintenance schedule activities

·         Being accountable for regularly reporting the status of preventive maintenance implementation

·         Actively following up all scheduled preventive maintenance activities to be performed punctually

4.    Purchasing/ maintaining spare parts/ technical equipment

·         Being accountable and responsible in liaising with PR issuer to issue required PR for ordering spare parts

·         Liaising with procurement team to obtain the right quality of the technical items/ spare parts and setting up any necessary contract with the vendor

5.    Managing projects

·         Ensuring the safety of the project (during and after the project)

·         Initiating and handing over (after commissioning) the required project based on the guideline

·         Monitoring the project’s cost to be always within the budget (± 10% from the approved budget)

·         Liaising with procurement team to obtain the right vendor to perform the work based on the technical and commercial evaluations

·         Being accountable for completing and closing the projects within the working year.

6.    Following up maintenance-related audits

·         Closing all action items related to maintenance as per the requirement

7.    Maintaining documentation, reports, costs

·         Drafting, controlling, and managing the records of MoCs documents

·         Maintaining and updating the P&IDs

·         Performing site inspection to ensure the contractors’ safety habits

·         Providing monthly reports for:

o   CapEx (Capital Expenditures) allocations

o   Progress of the ongoing project and/ or modifications

o   Spare parts’ stocks record

o   Attendance records of the maintenance contractors

o   Daily works of the maintenance contractors

o   Maintenance’s downtime (if any)

o   Preventive maintenance progress

o   Root cause analysis for any breakdown (if any)

o   Maintenance index value

·         Reviewing and updating maintenance’s work instructions

·         Reviewing, updating, and issuing existing and new HIRARC (Hazard Identifications, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control) and EASI (Environmental Aspects and Significant Impacts).

·         Collaborating with store keeper to create spare parts’ SAP locations

·         Updating list of chemicals used by maintenance activities

·         Updating PPE matrix related to maintenance activities

8.    Controlling maintenance documents

·         Being accountable in ensuring all maintenance documents (e.g. P&IDs, SIS, manuals, etc.) are updated regularly as per BASF’s standards

·         Being the gatekeeper for the incoming and outgoing of maintenance documents from the archive room

The Maintenance Assistant Manager deputizes for and supports Technical Manager as follows:

·         Being in charge as the head of maintenance whenever Technical Manager is absent or unavailable. In this case, he has authority to make all decisions which fall under the Technical Manager’s responsibilities* in terms of maintenance’s roles and responsibilities. Should he be uncertain about the decision he has to make, he is required to make a phone call to Technical Manager

* The responsibilities are as follows:

1. Initiating process improvement or process optimization, coordinates with Production team and relevant Department to prepare the concept and later the execution/ implementation

2. Supporting purchasing department for project negotiation in technical evaluation and clarification.
