About the Role |
The Product Costing Analyst analyzes and provides useful inventory information to help business units mitigate significant impacts on product costs. The role performs monthly inventory valuation, analyzes actual-cost, standard-cost, and production-order variances, supports annual operating-plan activities, calculates inventory provisions, and communicates process deliverables to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities |
• Perform monthly inventory valuation at standard cost and actual cost in accordance with the month-end closing schedule.
• Analyze monthly variances involving actual cost, standard cost, and production orders.
• Support the definition and maintenance of the annual operating plan, including fixed production costs and variable rates.
• Calculate and record provisions for slow-moving inventory, net realizable value, and/or replacement price in accordance with the closing schedule and GAIN methodology.
• Communicate process deliverables and ensure stakeholders remain informed of progress, issues, and resolutions.
• Validate inventory and product-cost information for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Support internal controls, reconciliations, audit requirements, and continuous process-improvement activities.
• Collaborate with business and finance stakeholders to resolve product-costing issues under close guidance or alignment with the team lead.

Minimum Qualifications |
• Education: Professional qualification in Finance (e.g., B.Com., CA, CPA), an MBA, or a master’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related discipline.
• Work Experience: 1-3 years of experience in accounting, finance, product costing, inventory accounting, or a related field.
• Process Knowledge: Understanding of inventory valuation, standard and actual costing, production-order variances, inventory provisions, and month-end activities.
• Core Skills: Strong analytical capability, customer focus, problem-solving, organization, prioritization, attention to detail, and effective stakeholder communication.

Technical Skills |
• Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Advanced Excel skills are required.
• Working knowledge of SAP is required.
• Fluent English is required
• Knowledge of product costing, inventory accounting, financial controls, and month-end closing processes.
• Experience with the GAIN methodology or comparable inventory-provision processes is an advantage.
• Experience in a shared services, multinational, or GCC environment is preferred.
