About the Role:
Act as a trusted business partner and financial co-pilot to senior leadership by leading operational controlling activities, including financial planning, reporting, forecasting, budgeting, cost management, and service charging governance. Deliver actionable financial insights, drive transparency on cost drivers and performance, support strategic decision-making, and champion automation, continuous improvement, and compliance with corporate financial standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Controlling Tasks (service charging contract governance & ownership, monthly reporting/ budget tracking, forecasting, annual budgeting, ad-hoc cost analysis / deep dives, run charging activities and manage residuals, analyze and monitor cost flows, provide transparency on cost drivers to stakeholders and support to Senior Leadership team in all controlling aspects).
- Project Coordination: Support Reporting, Forecasting, Budgeting and Ad-Hoc analysis of Project Cost.
- Performance Management: Support (ad-hoc) analysis of KPI output, identification & execution of improvement measures, automation/improvement of KPI tracking
- Lead cost analysis, monitoring, reporting, and budgeting for your assigned business area.
- Deliver reliable financial information to support management decision-making and strategic planning.
- Lead and support automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate management inquiries and structure complex ad-hoc analysis.
- Liaise with the Finance Manager of the company to ensure compliance with BASF Group’s guidelines.
- Acts as a strategic advisor and financial co-pilot to senior leadership
- Translates business strategy into financial implications, targets, and value drivers
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of global accounting and charging mechanisms.
- Conduct training sessions for stakeholders to promote smooth processes and effective knowledge transfer.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors / Masters degree in Finance, Accounting or related fields and recognized professional qualification (e.g. CA)
- Professional experience 6-8 years, relevant experience in business or controlling functions is preferred
- Team player with a high service orientation with proactive approach and continuous improvement mindset.
- Strong communication skills in English
- Strong understanding of business models, value drivers, and financial steering
- Excellent analytical and negotiation skills, with a strong ability to learn and work independently as well as in a team.
- Ability to challenge business assumptions and provide fact-based recommendations to translate strategy into financial impact
- Strong communication and storytelling skills (management-ready messaging)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to operate in high-autonomy environments with strong decision-making accountability.
- Demonstrated capability to influence strategic outcomes while ensuring governance, compliance, and operational excellence.
Technical Skills:
Professional experience with ERP/IT tools such as SAP FI/CO, SAP BW, MS Office and PowerBI
