Objectives of the Position

Implement sales strategy, initiate contacts with assigned key accounts and distributors, identify their needs to promote new products in terms of product specifications and schedules and sell appropriate products accordingly in order to bring/support the achievement of sales & profit targets in South China

 

Main Tasks

Business development and customer management 

  • Plan, lead and carry out sales activities to achieve sales targets by calling and visiting assigned key accounts and distributors to understand and identify their needs to create a long-term customer supplier relationship. 
  • Develop proposal on sales and marketing, technical solutions to customers and ensure account strategy is implemented consistently.
  • Research, identify and develop assigned key account portfolio.
  • Further secure business opportunities by identifying customer needs in terms of product application, services requirements. Document those in CRM system.
  • Identify buying cycles, delivery schedules and pricing structure across products, provide necessary information to other functions, e.g. Marketing, Credit Control, Supply chain, Customer services. 

Contract and payment receivable management

  • Conclude sales contracts coordinating efforts from customer services, complying with price limits set by product management.
  • Provide customer credit information for company credit control function, ensure timely payment of receivables to meet established sales targets and revenue goals.

Support for sales forecasting and planning

  • Maintain up-to-date awareness of industry trends, technical development, market activities and industry intelligence to help define the marketability of products and report to supervisor identified trends that could affect targets. 
  • -Collect customer data/ information/ feedback/ expectations prepare for presentation/ seminars/ workshops to promote the products and services
  • Provide input to support the development of promotional materials to identified customers
  • Monitor, analyze, assess and communicate monthly sales data to Line Manager and propose product / service planning, revision of strategies, identify business opportunities, pinpoint problem areas and provide solutions.

Contribute to pricing policy

  • Implement the defined pricing policies.
  • Provide inputs on pricing structure according to market intelligence on price trends, consumption analysis, sales terms and conditions, customer profiles to ensure profitable margins. 

Market intelligence 

  • Contribute to build a database to evaluate market trends, knowledge on application/products/ technology and service needs in order to support identification of new business opportunities. 

Implement market research project to develop competitor grid and benchmarking analyses on competitors’ positioning and the performance of their competitive products.     

 

Minimum Education and Qualification Required for the Position

  • Education: minimum BSc with Chemistry educational background
  • Working Experience: more than 4-5 years related working experience in specialty chemical industry, provable experience in developing new business
  • Technical & Professional Knowledge: Market insights and product known-how relevant to specialty chemical products, such as polymers, surfactants etc.
  • Language requirement: Fluent verbal and written communications skills in both mandarin and English
