Objectives of the Position
- To carry out sample preparation and perform the test as per customer specification

Main Tasks
- Follow BASF safety guidelines in accordance with RC guidelines while performing activities.
- Responsible for development of new products and adaptation of existing products and tests the same to ascertain conformance to customer requirements.
- Coordinate with Technical product managers and TSS and handle product improvement requests, line application management, customer complaints.
- Prepare paint sample preparation and lab batches as per provided details and complete shade matching of the same
- Perform the testing as per specification & review the results with seniors.
- Preparation of activity report and submission of report to Product Owner/Tech Service.
- Solves problems, examines root causes of encountered problems, and works out and provide scientific solutions to problems
- Standardization of existing products as per line condition at both line & plant by interaction with cross functional teams and visits to customer lines.
- Guide and train juniors /Trainees as per organizational matrix of the laboratory and provide support and input to coworkers.
- Ensure development report & Monthly report, Form live.
EHS Management:
- Develop and Implement EHS procedures at Customization lab to maintain safe working environment.
- RCMS EHS representative for Customization lab
- Conduct walkthrough and audits in CL to ensure early identification of hazards and initiate timely corrective actions and preventive practices.
- Implement Safety, Health, and Environment system to subordinates.
- To ensure the safe handling of hazardous chemicals and adherence to PPE usage and the Work Permit system is properly followed. Compliance of process safety and environment code as per BASF practice.
- RCMS: Maintain training records and PPE records.

Minimum Education and Qualification Required for the Position
- M. Sc in Chemistry or Diploma in Chemical/Polymer/Coating Technology with relevant experience
- Working Experience (min required exp.): 6-9 years’ experience in automotive coating development.
- Technical & Professional Knowledge: Automotive Coatings ingredients and formulation technology
- Shade matching skills, basic knowledge of test methods, instruments and application techniques, Robotic applicator set up, OEM line process flow etc.
- Skills in Root cause analysis, problem solving, team development shall be an added advantage
