This position is based at BASF PETRONAS Chemicals' Sdn Bhd, a RM3.4 billion joint venture that combines the innovative strengths and capabilities of two well-established Fortune 500 companies, BASF SE (60%), the world's leading chemical company and PETRONAS (40%), Malaysia’s fully integrated energy company with a wide network of operations around the world. OBJECTIVES To lead and manage contractor Coordination section in managing all in-house contractors to be able to provide effective and efficient services to support maintenance and technical services of all the production complexes in Gebeng site. MAIN TASKS

  • Act as contracts owner for all services offered by in-house contractors at Gebeng site so as to deliver high quality and cost effectives services
  • Analyses and implement action plan in line with the business strategy i.e contracting strategy to ensure cost effective services with highest quality and safety standards.
  • Anticipates and analyses contractor situational and operational performance and implement a timely actions as to ensure effective mobilization and deployment of in-house contractor resources for the site.
  • Anticipates and analyses ATLIS system operational performance and issues and implement necessary actions to ensure smooth recording, tracking and monitoring of contractor’s claim hours.
  • Anticipates and analyses contacts requirement and availability and implement necessary actions to ensure service provided in-line with business strategy and directions
  • Act as Process Owner for Contractor Management Modules of SAP in which the scope including gatekeeping, process improvements, training, documentation and selection and mentor key user(s).
  • Shapes (the respective Section) and sets the tone by supporting and contributing towards the team to achieve short to medium- term strategic goals.
  • Identifies appropriate learning and development programs for team to close their competency gap
  • Coaches, mentors and counsels team and in-house contractor effectively to strictly comply with all safe work procedures and site HSE requirements.
  • Implement and facilitate effective development plan to ensure team and contractor will meet the targeted HSE and business requirements.
  • Ownership of process including gatekeeping, process improvements, training, documentation and selection and mentor key user(s).
  • Lead and facilitate operational and planning discussion with finance, procurement, project, plant workshop and others to resolve issue and meet the target expectation.

Requirement
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Engineering / Technical or an equivalent from a recognized university. Candidate with Master Degree would be an added advantage
  • Possess a minimum 6 years experience in mechanical work in an oil & gas or petrochemical plant environment, with a minimum 3 years in a leader capacity
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and SAP.
  • Demonstrate personal effectiveness and characteristics of a self-starter, proactive and strong focus in delivery and results.
  • Able to work under intense pressure in a fast paced environment and deliver within tight deadlines.
