Description

BASF has been operating in Malaysia for more than 25 years and currently has more than 1,600 employees in the country. BASF (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd was incorporated in 1989, and operates manufacturing plants in Bukit Raja in Selangor and Pasir Gudang in Johor, as well as an operational site in Kulim, Kedah. Objectives Technology Manager with focus on gas treatment and purification of hydrocarbons utilizing adsorbent solutions. The primary role of the Technology Manager is to identify business opportunities and convert them into business through technical dialogue with customers and selling value of BASF technology

Job Description

  • Provide technical consulting to customers (choose the right product, solution, or technology) including troubleshooting, in alignment with Commercial Account Manager (CAM)
  • Provide technical proposals / quotation to the customer in consultation with Global Marketing Manager, in alignment with Commercial Account Manager (CAM).
  • Develop performance warranty offers including price proposal in alignment with Global Marketing Manager
  • Drive opportunity management process internally (lead generation and qualification, solution development)
  • Collect and document technology, customer and competitor intelligence
  • Provide market/customer driven ideas and projects for incremental innovations
  • Manage product quality issues within the non-conformance management system
  • Provide customer consultation and on-site support
  • Interface with other business divisions of BASF as needed to provide complete solutions to customers
Role Requirements

  • University Degree in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering
  • 5-7 Years of leadership experience in leading team with successful business performance
  • 5-7 years working experience in Chemical Industry with good knowledge in chemical process, preferably in Catalysts Industry
  • Strong ability to identify opportunities or problem, and formulate and implement strategy/actions accordingly
  • Strong in establishing & fostering customer relationships
  • Ability to create impact in making deals by establishing and utilizing high-level contacts in customer companies
  • Good conflict management and networking skills (needs to mobilize resources across the BASF group)
