Description

Located in Hong Kong, BASF’s regional headquarters oversees more than 16,000 employees at about 100 sites across Asia Pacific. In addition to regional business units, Hong Kong office also houses regional functional units including Corporate Affairs, Finance and Controlling, Human Resources, Management Consulting, Procurement and Supply Chain Services. Objectives of the Position Reporting to the president of the dispersions and pigments division, the incumbent will support the president and the executive management team to effectively steer and carry out global communications both internally and externally, in line with the guidelines of Corporate Communications and business strategies of Dispersions & Pigments, and by leading and collaborating closely with the members of the communications community. Job Responsibilities


  • Create the division’s global communications objectives and strategies in consultation with internal stakeholders

  • Generate content about dispersions and pigments; build division-specific messages and ensure they are delivered and implemented across all regions

  • Develop and manage brand communications, and build the division’s overall reputation among journalists and position it through key global media

  • Coordinate market and customer-related communications activities across regions

  • Advise the president and management team on communication matters, and manage global town hall meetings

  • Develop, steer and implement global communications projects such as change management, acquisition as well as digital platform management such as internet and intranet

  • Lead specific employee communications initiatives and support the management team in driving and cascading strategy and action through the organization

  • Develop and maintain the division’s crisis communications plans and coordinate necessary drills and trainings

  • Lead, coordinate and develop the division’s communications community, and represent the division within BASF communications community
Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in journalism, marketing or mass communications

  • At least 10 years of work experience in marketing, marketing communications, or public relations in an international and multicultural environment

  • High degree of professionalism, intercultural understanding, and ability to build relationships for impact and influence at all levels

  • Excellent conceptual and entrepreneurial abilities (such as planning, analytical, creative, goal-oriented)

  • Solid understanding of marketing and business strategies and ability to translate those into marketing communications plans

  • Good knowledge of social media tools and enterprise social networks

  • A self-starter with a hands-on attitude and flexibility to travel

  • Fluent in English both spoken and written, and good at presentations, event moderation and public speaking

  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office and other programs such as Photoshop, Webmaster etc.
