Description

BASF has been operating in Malaysia for more than 25 years and currently has more than 1,600 employees in the country. BASF (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd was incorporated in 1989, and operates manufacturing plants in Bukit Raja in Selangor and Pasir Gudang in Johor, as well as an operational site in Kulim, Kedah.

Objective

The HR Business Partner is responsible to solve organizational challenges through people-related solutions supporting mid to senior-level leadership team, to understand every aspect of the business, and be a thought leader on human capital, strategy and organizational topics to drive the business to meet its goals.

Job Description

  • Create and implement the end-to-end human capital strategy that will drive the business to meet its goals. This role requires strategic reasoning and thinking, use of data to guide work, being comfortable challenging convention and, in some cases, influencing leaders to reassess how work is done
  • As a core part of this role, this position will execute programs to support the assigned cluster of business, including talent management, performance management, compensation and benefits, learning and development, engagement programs and strategic organizational development.
  • As the face to the business, the role will require strong partnering with the Center of Expertise (CoE) on Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development and Compensation & Benefits as subject matter experts to design and execute your strategy for how the business staffs, on-boards, develops, motivates, retains and organizes work
  • Provide insightful data to guide decision making and offer proactive solutions, solving problems and getting to the root cause of any issue, regardless of complexity.
  • Identify areas for process improvement, automation, to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the HR team as a whole.
Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in HR Management / Business Administration or related HR field
  • Working Experience:

    • Minimum 8 years relevant HR experience in well-established organizations, with several years of experience as a HR Business Partner
    Technical & Professional Knowledge:

  • Must have working experience on all HR topics i.e. labor law, industrial relations, talent management, succession planning, performance management
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, ability to analyze data, understand trends, develop recommendations for actions based on the analysis
  • Strong ability to influence through strong relationships and the ability to manage a complex set of stakeholders
  • Comfortable rolling up your sleeves to get things done and the next moment, being part of deeply complex strategy discussions
  • Strong sense of the importance of teamwork and collaboration. Superior communication skills and understand how to communicate large, complex change. Strong skills to create concepts and moderate workshops and discussion rounds
  • Ideally having past exposure in a Manufacturing environment
  • Additional details:

  • Comfortable to be based in Bukit Jelutong, Shah Alam up until Q1 2020 and to be based in Bandar Utama Q2 2020 onwards.
  • Willing to travel to several locations across West Malaysia with own transportation
  • Comfortable in an independent contributor position
