To ensure implementation of Environment, Safety and Health programs, including regulatory compliance and the requirements of Responsible care for Ankleshwar Site.

Main Tasks

Facilitate in the implementation of the BASF Responsible Care Programs including EHS standards, directives and guidelines.

Facilitate in the investigation of all incidents and accidents, together with ensuring appropriate preventive and corrective actions are undertaken in a timely manner.

Organize site RC&CSC, RC&WSC & RCSD meeting, conducts mock drills and coordinate for innovation & creativity activities related EHS.

Support for establish, prepare, plan and direct implementation of annual EHS improvement plans (RCSD Action Plan), monitoring the implementation.

Preparation of monthly & quarterly reports like EHS, RCSD action plan, mock drill

Support to carrying out safety talk, safety inspection, audits, management of change, SHE reviews, hazard identification & risk assessment & other safety related topics & monitoring safety in the plant.

Organize work place monitoring through authorized agencies

Periodical Safety audits & inspection for all departments

Follow up & compliance of all findings, observation & recommendation of all audits & inspections and EHS rounds & maintaining the same in EHS tracker.

Conducts safety promotional and motivational activities at site like Global Safety week, National safety week, world environment day celebrations.

Ensure the implementation of preventive inspection of PPEs & maintenance of emergency equipments.

Co-ordinate Corporate Health Management programs, particular medical examinations, first aid provision and health surveillance on specific hazardous substance exposures.

Coordinate in the early intervention, return to work and rehabilitation measures for injured employees.

Train, Develop and evaluate the employees & contractor on Safety related aspects.

Act as Code Champion for Responsible Care Code 3 Occupational Safety.

Provide expert advice, judgement and analysis in regulatory compliance and due diligence programs. This includes the facilitation of workplace hazard identification, risk assessment and control, provide recommendations that are innovative and entrepreneurial in risk mitigation.

Facilitate all local, regional and global reporting requirements, in ensuring accurate, consistent and reliable data are reported in a timely manner. Analyze data against relevant measurables and provide improvement options.

Deputize for other HSEQ team members in absences, provide out of hours first response in case of incidents and accidents.

Education: Bachelor of Chemical Engineering / Masters or Bachelor in Science (Chemistry) in addition
Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Safety is a must.

Experience: A minimum of 10 – 12 relevant experience is desired.
