Now hiring! Technical Service Specialist - Commercial Vehicles

We are looking for a Technical Service Specialist to join our Automotive Refinish team!

New finish, Proven expertise. Bolder ambition.

If you're someone who inspires others, owns their impact, and wants to elevate what they do, you'll fit right in.

Until July 1, our business was part of BASF. As part of the current transition, all job listings and the application process are still hosted on the BASF platform and therefore fully presented in BASF branding.

Please do not be confused by this: All roles are positions at Surventis, and your application will be submitted to us.

At Surventis, we go beyond the surface - in everything we do. We put customers at the center, think one step ahead, and develop solutions that create real value and lasting partnerships.  We inspire each other to think further, take ownership of our work, and constantly push to elevate what's possible. If you bring your full self, challenge the obvious answer, and want to grow with a team that means it - this is your place.

SURVENTIS Automotive Refinish Coatings Solutions offers high-quality refinish paint brands and paint-related products to body shops from around the world. Our solutions are approved by the world’s leading manufacturers for the repair of their vehicles. We provide shops with a vast array of solutions that help drive their business performance and efficiency.  At the heart of our business are our people and our trainers who take care of our customers’ needs including painting skills, advanced body shop management solutions, and sophisticated management solutions.

We are seeking a Technical Service Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the technical and commercial success of SURVENTIS automotive refinish products in the Commercial Vehicle (CV) market, with a strong focus on prospecting, developing, and converting new business opportunities. Working alongside the sales team, you will identify prospective customers, assess their technical and operational needs, and use hands-on demonstrations, product trials, process development, and application expertise to clearly communicate the value of SURVENTIS solutions. You will support new-customer conversions from initial evaluation through implementation, while maintaining high customer service standards and helping distribution partners become properly trained to effectively sell and position SURVENTIS offerings against competitive product lines.

As a Technical Service Specialist – Commercial Vehicles, you will...

  • Partner with sales and distribution teams to prospect for and identify new CV customers, applications, and market opportunities within the assigned territory.
  • Engage prospective customers to understand their technical requirements, production challenges, business objectives, and current competitive product usage.
  • Use technical expertise, product demonstrations, application trials, and process evaluations to build a compelling value proposition and advance qualified prospects through the sales process.
  • Work directly with the sales team to convert new business, supporting opportunities from initial qualification and testing through product approval, implementation, and successful customer launch.
  • Train and develop CV customers and distribution partners so they can confidently sell, position, apply, and support SURVENTIS products against competitive offerings.
  • Recommend process improvements that demonstrate measurable operational, productivity, quality, and financial value to prospective and existing customers.
  • Lead new-product presentations, customer demonstrations, and technical selling activities that generate interest, overcome objections, and support new-business growth.
  • Provide hands-on technical support during customer conversions to ensure correct product application, rapid adoption, and a positive experience with SURVENTIS branded products.
  • Maintain visibility to prospecting activity, technical evaluations, conversion progress, and market feedback, and communicate clear next steps to the sales team.

If you...

  • Have a high school diploma or GED; an associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Have experience training or working hands-on with vehicle coatings materials.
  • Demonstrate the ability and motivation to prospect for new business, build relationships with potential customers, and support a consultative technical sales process.
  • Can translate technical product and process knowledge into a clear business value proposition for customers and distribution partners.
  • Possess a solid understanding of manufacturing and production workflows, including the ability to identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Understand competitive products and tools and can effectively position SURVENTIS solutions against them.
  • Communicate effectively, ask strong discovery questions, deliver persuasive demonstrations, and follow through on commitments.
  • Are comfortable collaborating with sales teams and distribution partners to meet new-business and financial targets.
  • Have experience working with Microsoft Office tools; experience documenting prospect and opportunity activity in a CRM system (e.g., Salesforce) is preferred.
