About The Role
Support the local Pigment & Paste Owner in managing and executing pigment and paste-related activities in China. The role focuses on operational support, coordination, data transparency, and implementation of agreed actions across production, C-Labs, procurement, and suppliers, contributing to robust quality, cost competitiveness, and sustainable local operations.
How You Will Do It
Support to Pigment & Paste Ownership
- Support the local Pigment & Paste Owner in day-to-day pigment and paste activities in China including root causes investigation.
- Prepare analyses, reports, and documentation to support decision-making within the PSM framework
Operational & Cross‑functional Coordination
- Support alignment of Chinese pigment and paste activities with global PSM processes and standards
- Coordinate with production, C-Labs, procurement, and suppliers on agreed activities and follow‑ups
- Follow action items, milestone related to pigment and paste topics
Pigment Paste Localization & optimization (Support Role)
- Support pigment paste localization projects, including testing coordination, data collection, and documentation
- Support implementation and follow-up of agreed optimization measures together with production and lab teams
Consolidation & Transparency
- Support pigment and paste consolidation activities in China based on defined transparency frameworks
- Maintain and update local overviews of pigment toolbox, paste portfolio, and intermediates
- Identify consolidation opportunities and escalate improvement proposals to the Pigment & Paste Owner
EHS & Compliance
- Support adherence to EHS requirements in labs and operational activities within the scope of responsibility
- Assist in audit preparation and follow-up actions to ensure compliance with BASF standards

- #Pigment pastes in China / Sales - annual tracking
- R&D Budget/Spend (Pigment and Paste Team China)
- Q-Cost (Pigment intermediates China)
- Safety (hsWPRIR)
- Ensure all activities meet BASF standards of EHS and 5S.
What We Look For
- Education: Master’s degree or above
- Working Experience: At least 3 years in coating industry
- Technical & Professional Knowledge: Solid Chemistry knowledge and skills; conversational English
