We are looking for a Technical Sales Representative to join our Surventis Surface Treatment team in Western Pennsylvania.

As a Technical Sales Representative you will...
- Understand the business activities of accounts in the territory and apply knowledge of the customer’s internal operation to tailor sales presentations and sales proposals to the account’s specific needs.
- Manage territory profitability by reviewing territory compensation margins, providing margin improvement by product selection and optimum pricing.
- Assure that technology provided within the territory strengthens the company’s competitive position within the accounts.
- Plan a weekly itinerary of calls to allocate time effectively and to ensure proper territory coverage by industry, geography and account potential.
- Call on established and prospective customers, determine their needs, and sell appropriate products to markets, targeted by the business units of the company.
- Make proper number of calls per day based on territory requirements.
- Must be able to physically service and call on existing and prospective customers.
- Select the process and the right material to solve customer cleaning, sanitation or surface treatment problems.
- Make sales presentations, both orally and written.
- Answer customers’ questions concerning product use.
- Negotiate pricing: Provide pricing quotes, price and delivery policy within established limits, subject to approval.
- Attain sales plan by securing new customers, increasing sales to current customers and maintaining up to date opportunity pipeline in CRM (Salesforces).
- Work closely with customers focusing on building strong business relationships.
- Maintain contact with customers in relation to their service requirements.
- Provide information on new products, methods, techniques and other general information such as safety and disposal.
- Train customers and ensure proper and safe use of Surventis materials.
- Report competitive activities that impact sales in the territory, to the supervisor (District Manager).
- Prepare and submit call reports, exception reports, and in-plant service reports via CRM (Salesforce).
- Use the CRM (Salesforce) for management of the accounts.
- Share reports with appropriate colleagues to ensure collaboration with different functions to keep all necessary information on all accounts.
- Improve technical knowledge of Surventis materials through self-study and participation in professional Association.
- Participate in team selling activities in cooperation with other TSR’s, technical support personnel and application engineers.
- Request samples according to company policy.
- Exercise proper caution in handling company materials and equipment.
- Operates automobile (company car) safely and maintain it in proper operating condition.
- Complete all necessary reports in due time (expenses, mileage report, etc.).
If you have...
- BS Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Engineering, or Business is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of relatable experience is required.
- B2B/outside industrial sales experience, in specialty chemical sales (surface treatment-paint pretreatments, wastewater treatments, metalworking fluids, etc.) preferred.
- Ability to make sales presentations and follow up with written proposals and manage customer contracts.
- Well organized with sales planning.
- Managing customer accounts within the assigned territory.
- Strong selling skills for customer acquisition and continuous up-/cross-selling opportunities (customer support/account management)
- Build and strengthen customer relationships.
- Technical consulting capabilities regarding products and processes; will learn and understand Chemetall product portfolio.
- Strong business acumen.

- Travel up to 50-60%, with occasional overnight travel.
- Valid driver's license in good standing.

Pay transparency
Surventis is committed to pay transparency practices. The competitive Pay Range for this role is $94,000 – $112,000. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
