WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Due to the strategic realignment of the Coatings business unit, a dedicated accounting department is being established. This presents an exciting opportunity to develop and shape the finance organization from its foundation. Therefore, we are looking for a Global Functional Process Owner Book-to-Report / Record-to-Report (B2R) | General accounting with the following objectives:

• You own the global B2R | General Accounting processes, which include the ownership of the global chart of accounts setup, journal voucher postings, period-end closing processes, financial statement preparation & disclosures.
• You establish and maintain global standards for B2R | General accounting processes, ensuring these are aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements across the Coatings division.
• You oversee the general accounting activities, identify and drive process improvement opportunities, leveraging technology and digital solutions to enhance automation, efficiency, and continuous improvement within the finance organization.
• Moreover, you manage a third-party business process provider in the area of general accounting and implement process performance KPIs to steer the service provider.
• Furthermore, you collaborate closely with related functions such as Group Accounting, Order-to-Cash, Purchase-to-Pay as well as asset and project accounting, coordinate integration efforts and ensure holistic alignment of accounting processes.
• In addition, you engage with internal stakeholders to ensure that general accounting processes meet business needs and support strategic objectives.

WHAT YOU OFFER

• university degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field; additional certifications such as CMA or CPA are an advantage
• at least 10 years of work experience in financial process management and optimization, with a strong focus on general accounting activities in a multinational corporation
• experience in the chemicals industry or a related industry, particularly during transitions or carve-outs, is highly beneficial
• strong understanding of accounting processes and process optimization methodologies
• proficiency in SAP R/3 and S/4, process mapping tools, and advanced MS Office skills
• excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders in a multicultural environment
• fluency in English is required
